Ukraine sniper sets ‘new world record’ for longest kill after blasting Russian from 2.3 MILES away using huge 6ft rifle

Designed by Ukrainian arms plant MAYAK, Horizon’s lord promises to deliver an anti-materiel and sniper weapon system that would have a longer effective range and flatter trajectories, The Firearm Blog reports. The rifle is also said to be easy to carry and transport in and out of the battlefield, as it follows tight restrictions on length and weight. It comes after another Ukrainian sniper allegedly took out two Russian troops with a single bullet while shooting five men in five minutes. The shot was said to have been taken at a distance of nearly 4,000ft and comes just days after another Ukrainian marksman claimed to have committed the second-longest combat kill in history. The footage comes from the sniper’s scope as Russian troops walk into its crosshairs. The scope then jumps as a shot is fired and the two figures drop to the ground. Ukraine’s 3rd Special Purpose Regiment of the Special Operations Forces are thought to have been behind the incredible shot while on patrol in the Donetsk region. The Office of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said at the time the sniper came very close to taking the world record for the longest combat kill.
